Hot Stone Therapist: What To Look For

By Chris Turley

It is true that even if you are in the most luxurious spa in the world with the most expensive kinds of hot stones and massage supplies, without a proficient therapist, all of these are futile. Indeed, there is nothing like a professional and skillful massage therapist to give you the best kind of hot stone therapy.

Sadly, it is not a cinch to find the therapist who will give you this. Not only does it take time for you to search for one, it may also take some time for you to build a good relationship and rapport with your therapist.

To help you find a good hot stone therapist, here are some things you need to look for. A good massage therapist must

1. have certification or license. This is one of the foremost things you need to ask your therapist before engaging in service. This is to make sure that he or she is indeed a certified therapist that is knowledgeable on the rudiments of massage, and to avoid frauds that proliferate in the society today.

2. have undergone intensive training specifically on hot stone therapy. It is not enough that a therapist has undergone training in another area of massage. Hot stone therapy is a complicated form of massage that requires rigorous education.

3. have extensive experience on hot stone massage. This way, you can find out if the therapist has sufficient skills and experience to provide you the kind of massage experience you are looking for.

4. have been recommended by family and friends. It is always a good idea to ask around people closest to you about therapists they have tried and will highly recommend. This makes sense since it is always easier to trust people you know than advertisements. You can also get a referral from your doctor since doctors often recommend massage therapy as a part of medical treatments.

5. have a current city-issued permit.

6. know the rudiments about this style. Ask the therapist things you want and need to know about hot stone therapy and he or she should be able to answer you with enough confidence. Do a background research prior to this so you know that the therapist is telling you the truth and not just toying with your mind.

7. ask you about your medical history and current health condition prior to the session.

8. discuss and explain with you the whole process of the therapy before the session. The therapist should be willing to answer any questions that you may have.

9. check on your personal preferences and make the necessary adjustments to cater to your needs.

10. be professional. Whether it is in the way the therapist dresses or interacts with you, decency and professionalism should be practiced at all times.

11. have a complete set of hot stone therapy supplies.

12. have a sanitary and orderly massage environment.

13. always make you feel comfortable.

With these tips, it will not be too difficult to find the right therapist who will always give you a wonderful kind of massage experience.

House approves Senate amended economic stimulus package

Friday, February 8, 2008

The United States House of Representatives has passed the bipartisan US$152 billion economic stimulus package that gives one-time rebates to United States citizens, US$600 for individuals or US$1,200 for couples plus US$300 for each child. US$300 checks would be sent to people on low-income including retirees on Social Security which was not included in the original bill backed by President George W. Bush. The plan would begin to decrease rebates for citizens with taxable incomes of US$75,000 for individuals and US$150,000 for couples. The checks would go out to more than a 130 million Americans according to Treasury secretary Henry Paulson.

The House overwhelmingly approved the more broad Senate amended bill which included the low-income portion mentioned above along with provisions that would keep illegal aliens from receiving a rebate check. Despite some opposition from some Congressmen, such as John B. T. Campbell III of California’s 48th congressional district, the plan passed overwhelmingly 380–34.

Campbell called the plan “wealth redistribution” and noted it did not have safeguards to prevent illegals from receiving these rebates and also claimed that stimulus plan would increase the deficit more and noted the cause of the looming recession was because of “credit problems.”

The United States Senate voted hours earlier on the bill which passed in the Senate, 81–16. after having to shed some incentives included by Senate Democrats which caused the bill to fail. Some of the incentives that were left out of the plan in a compromise to gain Republican support were demands for benefits for long-term unemployed workers and stipulation that would allow low-income citizens to pay off heating bills and let home builders pay off losses off the current year against previous tax years.

President Bush approved of the package, noting in a statement, “This plan is robust, broad-based, timely, and it will be effective, this bill will help to stimulate consumer spending and accelerate needed business investment.”

How To Host A Most Fabulous Olivia The Pig Birthday Party

By Thor Hanso

Olivia the Pig is a wonderful story about a very special, imaginative and talented little pig. The Olivia the Pig books were created (written and illustrated) by Ian Faulkner for his niece. The stories revolve around Olivia who is a small pig with always up for an adventure and who has a large imagination. At the age of six she has already been an opera singer, circus performer and ballet dancer.

One of the unique things about the Olivia books series is the fact that they are illustrated with limited color. This allows the author to express his ideas without the use of excessive color. The original books only had red, black and white as the colors while new books in the series have added a single color per story. This is important for when you are decorating the venue for your party.

Your Olivia the Pig party decorations should follow this same color theme. This means using only red, black and white as the colors. If your child has a favourite color that they would like added that would be ok too. However, don’t go overboard with this color and use it only to emphasize certain things. A few decoration ideas include red, black and white helium balloons. You can group them together by tying the strings together to create a clump of 3-6 balloons be sure to only include 1 black balloon in a clump though as black tends to overpower the other colours.

A great way to decorate your party venue is also to decorate the guests. When each child (and adult) walk in the door give them a red feather boa, white shirt and pig ears. These can all be found at your local dollar store or party supply outlet and are very inexpensive but can create a very stunning effect. In fact, you will probably want to take a picture of all the decorated guest (in a group shot) to add to the party favour packages or thank-you cards.

Finally, don’t forget to decorate the walls. A fun way to join the decorations with the party games is to make the kids decorate the walls. Simply tape a few large pieces of paper to the wall and give the kids black, red and 1 other color crayons. Tell them that they must be the featured artist at this venue and that you need a great drawing to capture the moment! Then sit back and watch what they create. After the party you can either give them their drawing or take a photo and include it in the thank-you cards!

Once the decorations are set you’ll need to consider the birthday cake, games and activity and the party favours. A simple but important tip with party favours is to write each child’s name on their party favour box. This stops them from losing their gift bags during the party!

Remember, a kids birthday party is all about fun. Don’t forget to leave a little time for free-play where they can do whatever imagination, drawing or playing that they want.

For fans, by fans: Toronto anime event 2017 among continent’s largest

Wednesday, May 31, 2017

Anime North is “by the fans, for the fans”, event chair Irwin Tan told Wikinews in an interview at the event, Saturday. Started by a group of university anime clubs in 1997, it has grown to become one of the largest conventions of its kind in North America, spanning three days, five venues, and tens of thousands of fans.

Along with the dealer’s hall, industry tables, and artist booths typical of conventions, Anime North’s convention floor included a formal gallery space, a charity auction in support of Toronto’s Sick Kids Hospital, an aerial performer, gaming tables, archery tag, dance events, and outdoor concerts. At one of the hotels surrounding the main venue, an entire 5000 volume manga library was available, for attendees looking to take a quiet pause. Full programming tracks about ball-jointed dolls — Doll North — and homoerotic-themed anime and manga — Yaoi/Yuri North — were also given entire hotels to themselves, allowing them to offer extensive programming.

As with many fan conventions, many fans attended in cosplay of their favourite characters. Some outfits included massive props, like wings, weapons, or even an additional character riding on their back. A variety of anime and manga worlds were represented, as well as video games like Undertale, Western comic books, Disney characters, even “Smug Wendy”, and the Ferocious Beast from Maggie and the Ferocious Beast. The event offered panels to help costume creators and wearers develop in their hobby, such as “Thermoplastics for Cosplay”, looking at the pliable polymers used to create things like character armour, and “Social Media for Cosplayers”.

The cosplay subculture of animegao kigurumi, for which masks of mainly human characters are worn, was well-represented. Ride the Pig Studios, a Nevada-based studio, was set up in the industry section with a photo booth for attendees to get a photo with practitioners of the craft, and two sessions, including one hosted by Kazunori Uhyo Sugiura, a university professor attending from Japan.

Anime North was deemed the fourth largest convention in North American with a primary theme of anime, in 2016, by

Six dead in shooting at Texas roller skating rink

Monday, July 25, 2011

Six people have died after a shooting at a roller skating rink in Grand Prairie, Texas. The shooting happened at a children’s birthday party on Saturday at around 7:10pm after a domestic dispute. The gunman is among the dead after a self inflicted gunshot. Four other people were injured in the shooting.

John Brimmer, a spokesman for the Grand Prairie Police Department said “This was a domestic situation that went south in a hurry. The shooting lasted only seconds.”

The entire rink had been rented out by a family for a private party. All of the dead were either teenagers or adults attending the celebration.

Brimmer added at the end of his statement, “Thankfully we don’t have things like this happen with any kind of regularity. We are a community of give or take 160,000 people and it’s a great city and for something like this to happen is just horrible.”

Fast And Easy Shrimp Meal

Submitted by: Pablo Gelman

Football season means party time, and nothing is far more fun than tailgating with close friends previous to the large game.

Joe Cahn, the self-proclaimed “commissioner of tailgating,” suggests celebrating in design with Crazy American shrimp, a finger food that easily complements beer, wine and soft drinks.

“Wild American shrimp go fantastic with tailgating mainly because it is quick, straightforward and very good,” stated Cahn, who has driven 250,000 miles visiting thousands of cities and eaten his way through a lot more than 370 tailgate parties.

Crazy American shrimp is caught off the Gulf and South Atlantic coasts. Very much of the shrimp consumers consume is pond-raised and imported.

“You have a choice and may possibly not realize you’re eating shrimp grown in ponds and imported to this country,” Cahn stated. “And shrimp in the Gulf and Atlantic just tastes better.”

Crazy American shrimp might be cooked forward of time or grilled minutes prior to serving. Low in weight and packed with flavor, protein and cardio-protective omega-3 fatty acids, it gives party-goers plenty of energy to cheer for their favorite team.

1. In a mixing bowl, toss the shrimp along with salt, black pepper, and cornstarch. Make sure these ingredients mix well. Let this mixture marinate for about 10 minutes. Meanwhile, place a wok on high heat. When the wok becomes hot, pour cooking oil inside it. Move the wok around to ensure its surface gets evenly coated with oil.

2. Add shrimp to the wok. Let it fry for about 30 seconds. After 30 seconds, turn the shrimp over to the other side and let it fry for another 30 seconds. Once both sides of the shrimp have been cooked evenly, remove the shrimp from the wok.

3. Reduce the heat to medium and allow it to become hot again. Break the three eggs inside the wok and stir the yolks to make scrambled eggs. When the eggs get cooked, remove them from the pan and place them on the same plate as that of the cooked shrimp.4. Wipe the wok clean with paper towels. Make sure no trace of cooking oil remains around its surface. Place the wok on high heat again and add one tablespoon of cooking oil to it. Again, move the wok around so that the oil spreads on the wok s entire surface. When the oil heats up, add green onions to it.

5. Fry the onions for about 15 seconds. Now add the rice to it, stir the contents well so that the green onions and the rice get mixed up well. Spread the rice grains on the surface of the wok, and let it fry. Do not stir while it gets cooked. This will take about 2 minutes. After two minutes, stir the rice grains with a spatula.

6. Add some soy sauce to the rice and stir well. Add the peas and carrots to the mixture. Then add the cooked shrimp and scrambled eggs to the wok along with one teaspoon of sesame oil. Mix thoroughly.

7. You can now serve your shrimp fried rice.

For the next tailgating celebration, try this simple recipe from Wild American Shrimp Inc..

(Makes six servings)

1/4 cup vegetable oil

1/4 pot tequila

1/4 cup red wine vinega

2 tablespoons Mexican lime juice

1 tablespoon ground red chiles

1/2 teaspoon salt

two cloves garlic, finely chopped

1 red bell pepper, finely chopped

24 large raw shrimp, peeled and

de-veined (tails left on)

Mix all ingredients except shrimp in shallow glass or plastic dish. Stir in shrimp. Cover and refrigerate for one hour.

Get rid of shrimp from marinade, reserving liquid. Thread 4 shrimp on every single of six (8-inch) metal skewers. Grill above medium coals, turning once right up until pink, 2 minutes to 3 minutes on each and every side.

Inside a non-reactive saucepan, bring marinade to a boil. Minimize heat and simmer, uncovered, right up until bell pepper is tender, about five minutes. Serve with shrimp.

Ford’s US auto sales spike, surpassing GM

Wednesday, March 3, 2010

Ford Motor Company said on Tuesday that its sales in the United States rose 43% in February compared to the same period last year, as the automaker outsold rivals Toyota and General Motors.

The strength of our new products … are resonating with customers

Ford said that total sales improved to 142,285 units, compared to 141,951 units sold by GM. Additionally, Ford said that its share of the total US car market rose to 17%, up from 14% a year ago. The increase was better than analysts had predicted, and Ford’s stock rose to a five-year high in morning trading, before declining later in the day. Ford’s sales were significantly influenced by a 74% increase in fleet sales to businesses. Rental car agencies alone accounted for around 30,000 units sold. Sales to retail consumers increased only 28%.

The increases were led by sales of two sedans, the Fusion and Taurus, which rose 166.5 and 93.3% respectively, although sales of other models such as SUVs and pickup trucks also increased. Both models were significantly redesigned last year, and analysts said that improved quality from such cars were driving the increases.

Other companies also reported February sales today, nearly all reporting sales gains as well, although none as large as those of Ford. Toyota was the sole exception to the sales gains, as their sales declined 8.7%, as the company was faced with a global recall during the month that led to a temporary stoppage of production for some models.

“The strength of our new products … are resonating with customers,” said Ken Czubay, Ford’s vice president of sales and marketing. However, he believed that traditional Toyota customers were not buying rival autos, but rather awaiting the results from the recalls.
