Our History
HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Mjet's formation and development are closely
tied with Holland's recent history. Mjet was
founded in October 1997 by a group of Dutch
investors. The first and only aircraft was a
Boeing 737-400 which started flying on a
scheduled basis to our first premier
destination London (Gatwick) and on a
charterbasis to Las Palmas, Canary Islands.
DESTINATIONS AND MORE
London has been a destination ever since,
nowadays Mjet serves Gatwick & Stansted
Airport. Steadily the flightplan grew, as well as
our fleet, Mjet has seen a wide variety of
aircraft like the Boeing 757-200, Airbus
330-200 & even DC-10 & Boeing 747-200 as a
temporary meassure in between deliveries. Like
many other airlines worldwide Mjet needed
time to adjust and find the right business
model to operate efficiently. Luckily we had the
time to do so, also thanks to good and
adequate management in difficult times.
FLEET UPDATES
Mjet has operated a Boeing 737-fleet only for
many years, but in the past year a drastic
change has been made. More modern,
comfortable & efficient Airbus 318's & 320's
have been chosen. Furthermore after years of
solely flying in Europe & Northern Africa Mjet
has recently started building up a growing
network of trans-atlantic flights to
destinations like New York, Aruba & Miami.
ALLIANCE
Although not many people nowadays can
imagine this, Mjet used to be part of an
alliance call Northern Star. We were very proud
to be part of this union with both German and
Norwegian partners. The alliance has helped us
to find the most logical way to gain a own
identity, a way of providing service and
finetune our network- and fleet-strategy.
At the moment Mjet is not seeking to become
a member of one of the available alliances. We
are in talks with a other airline though. A solid
partnership is something we can benefit from.
