Mjet flies several times a week from Newcastle
and Brussels to Sardinia, Italy. The flighttime to
both Olbia and Alghero Airports is just over 2
hours from Brussels and less then 3 from
Newcastle. By then you have arrived at one of
the most beautiful and scenic islands across the
Mediterranean Sea.

Sardinia is located off the west coast of Italy
just below the island of Corsica. Italian is the
main language of this vastly diverse island
although various regions of the island have
traditional languages of their own from Catalan
in the region of Alghero through to Campidanese
in the south.

Sardinia is a beautiful island boasting stunning
landscapes; from the wonderfully fragrant and
lush inland mountains to the picturesque
harbours and fishing villages. This area boasts
the Costa Smeralda ( Emerald coast), one of the
most beautiful stretches of beach coastline in
the whole of the Mediterranean. The easiest
way to reach the Costa Smeralda is by flying to
Olbia.

Alghero is a picturesque seaside town located
on the northwestern tip of the island of Sardinia.
Alghero Airport is situated 8.0 km north
northwest of the city of Alghero. Often known
locally as the Fertillo Airport (Alghero Riviera del
Corallo), the terminal has recently been
thoroughly modernised to optimise the use of all
space. The airport currently features 17 check-in
desks, 7 gates and one runway, which measures
around 3,300 metres / 10,825 feet.

Olbia is a pleasant and prosperous town on the
north-eastern coast of Sardinia, its borders
forming the sides of a wide, natural inlet, that
opens between the two magnificent calcareous
geology of Capo Figari and the island of
Tavolara. Its origins date back to the 4th century
B.C. by the Cartaginians, followed sooner by
Roman rule.

Olbia Airport, also known as Aeroporto Olbia
Costa Smeralda, is located a few kilometers to
the south-east of the city. The airport has one
terminal, this terminal has been completely
renovated in 2004.

The island of Sardinia is becoming a popular
destination for second home owners. As the
island has a wide range of cultural/sports
activities and historic sights besides the
beaches, sun and sea, it has something to offer
for everyone.
